Jennifer McGuire’s Tulle Shaker Card

Standard

IMG_0285

I came across a tulle shaker card that the amazing Jennifer McGuire posted recently. You can find it here. Tulle shaker card tutorial

I love shaker cards. I never considered using tulle before though. I love how it creates a very soft elegant feel. So this is my version of her card. It is for my friends daughter’s wedding. It fits her theme perfectly.

I had trouble keeping my sequins inside the tulle, I think the tear tape I was using wasn’t strong enough. So I hand stiched a circle, using the left over cutout piece from my window as a guide.

I used a Stampendous cling stamp set ‘Bird Blooms’ for my flower and leaves, Tim Holtz distress inks; Bundled Sage and Mowed Lawn for the leaves and for the flower Seedlees Preserves and Dusty Concord. My Sentiment was a Kaisercraft Mini Clear Stamp ‘Together Forever’ which I stamped using a versacolor ink cube ‘Amethyst’ and then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder and an unbranded die from my stash to cut out the window. My Sequin’s are from Neat & Tangled ‘Sweetheart Sequin Mix’ and I also added some small silver hearts from my stash.

Always and Forever

Standard

This is a card I made for my friend’s Son’ Wedding using the theme colours of Red, Aqua and Black.  I used my Sizzix border embossing folder ‘Always and Forever’ which I blinged up with Kindy  Glitz!  The punch for the edges is the Martha Stewart edger punch Doily Lace.

Damask Thank You

Standard

Lisa’s thank you card  carries through the theme of  the black and white damask, using a small square Diamante and ribbon, giving it a touch of bling.

There is space at the top for a photo to be inserted and the bottom was left blank   for the couple to hand write their message.

more Cuttlebug!

Standard

I’ve been playing with my Cuttlebug  some more  this week. This card is the product of me playing with an idea for a wedding invitation I’ve been asked  to make, which I adapted for my Sisters birthday. Red is her favourite colour.  I drew a free form heart and then used it as a template which I drew onto the back of the embossed section (I used Sizzix Starry Night) and then cut out the shape. It took a little  bit of adjusting  to get the right shape. Over all  I’m pleased  with the outcome :0)
