I recently saw this technique for the first time and wanted to try it for my self.
The first card was made by layering three pieces of cardstock down and then stamping, embossing it and then added a matt layer. It really is a very pretty effect. Which got me thinking……..
So for the second card I layered the cardstock but only embossed it. I then inked the embossed areas and once again added a matt layer.
I recently bought the Sizzix triple circle flip-it’s die set. I love how this card turned out. Retro meets Contemporary……
This is a card I made for my friend’s Son’ Wedding using the theme colours of Red, Aqua and Black. I used my Sizzix border embossing folder ‘Always and Forever’ which I blinged up with Kindy Glitz! The punch for the edges is the Martha Stewart edger punch Doily Lace.
Here’s a quick little Christmas planner I made this morning for my friend.
Basically all I did was take a double-sided piece of card stock (I used a basic grey Christmas print) cut to 30cm x 30cm and scored at 10cm and 20cm length ways and then flipped it around and scored at 21cm width ways.
I then embossed just to the scoring at 21cm and then folded the bottom part up and used double-sided tape to secure into pockets. I then folded it like a pamphlet. I added a lovely little clip art I found here http://papercraftingobsession.blogspot.com/2010/08/christmas-planner-free-printable.html which I matted in red and sandwiched some ribbon in between before adhering together to use as a tie. (I just saved the clip art and then sized it down to suit my planner/organizer.)
I then made a quick little to do list and gift list on word printed out and attached to some red card with ribbon. In the middle pocket I added an envelope that I cut down and decorated using some more clip art from Tami’s blog (Thank you Tami!) to use as storage for receipts. To finish off I gave every thing a bit of a spray with glimmer mist for fun!
So I’ve decided that basically I am a person who likes simple clean lines. After looking at lots of different options this is what we decided on. Well me I guess ’cause my husband said he didn’t mind which one we have. “You always make lovely things” Translated does that mean “It’s just an Invitation does it really matter?” LOL
The Chandelier has been embossed and is all sparkly although it hasn’t come up very well in the photo. I’m really pleased with the out come as I haven’t had my CB very long and I’m new to stamping as well. I used The Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder, Top Note Die both from Stampin Up and the Stamp was from Kaisercraft.
